Our Philosophy

At FC Roast, every bean we source comes from farms that treat their workers fairly and we ensure they are always paid a fair price. We work directly with importers who visit these farms and build lasting relationships with growers.

We roast our beans in small batches every day, and your order will include who roasted the beans! From bean to cup - you can see the traceability.

We're completely transparent about our process. No secrets, no marketing tricks – just honest information to help you brew the perfect cup. And if you are local to Sunderland, we welcome you to come and have a look around the roastery.

What We Offer

Our House Blend remains our most popular choice. It's a smooth, balanced coffee that works perfectly for espresso or filter brewing. We've spent two years perfecting this blend using 100% Brazilian beans.

Single-origin coffees like our Ay Carlos showcase unique flavours from specific, high quality farms and growers.

Our Cup of Nations series features a selection of our favourite blends with a fun twist - a collectible tube showing some major football moments.

For coffee lovers who want variety, our monthly 'Roasters pick' coffee subscription is a winner! They also make perfect gifts and let you explore new flavours and be the first to try any new blends.

Every order can be ground to match your brewing method. Whether you use an espresso machine, French press, Aeropress, V60 or any other method, we'll grind your beans perfectly.

Why Choose FC Roast?

Small-batch roasting means we can control quality at every step.

You'll taste the difference immediately. Our customers regularly tell us they can't go back to supermarket coffee after trying ours! The flavours are cleaner, more complex, and significantly fresher.

When you call or email us, you speak directly with someone who roasts coffee, not a call centre. We answer questions about brewing, recommend coffees based on your preferences, and solve problems quickly.

Sustainability & Ethics

We only buy coffee from farms that pay workers living wages. Our importing partners visit these farms regularly and maintain long-term relationships with growers.

Many of our coffees come from farms using sustainable growing methods. These farmers avoid harmful pesticides, protect local wildlife, and use water conservation techniques.

Our packaging uses recyclable materials whenever possible. We're constantly looking for ways to reduce waste without compromising the freshness and quality of our coffee.

How to Order

Ordering from our website takes less than two minutes. Choose your coffee, select your grind preference, and add any special instructions.

We process orders Monday through Friday and ship the same day if ordered before 1pm. Weekend orders ship on Monday.

UK shipping costs £3.50 for orders under £50. Orders over £50 ship free anywhere in the UK, usually arriving within 2-3 business days.

HAND-PICKING

Hand-picking the beans is the only way to ensure optimal ripeness. This human touch is a significant factor that differentiates specialty coffee from mass-produced varieties.
